In 1991 Viewlogic went public on NASDAQ, offering 3,500,000 shares at $13 a share. After being acquired by Synopsys in 1997, Viewlogic management in 1998 bought out the PCB/Systems unit, reestablishing Viewlogic as a private company. IC design software remained with Synopsys. Synopsys retained a minority 14.9% stake. In 2000 Viewlogic and Summit Design merged to form Innoveda.
