Synopsys uncorked the latest version of its software for the design of optical communication systems and photonic integrated circuits at the signal propagation level, adding a new interface and expanding the software’s application design libraries.

Mentor Graphics said it would provide a variety of tools to support the new Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC devices from Xilinx, dual-core field-programmable gate arrays. The tools include Mentor Embedded Linux, the Nucleus real-time operating system, Mentor Embedded Hypervisor, and Mentor Embedded Multicore Framework products.

Deals

Andes Technology won a deal with ITE Tech, which will incorporate Andes’ N801 CPU core into the IT835X sensor hub chip, citing the core’s MIPS-per-mWatt performance.

Intrinsic-ID’s Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) technology, which allows implementation of security functions such as device authentication and anti-cloning, is now available for certain Imagination MIPS CPUs.
