We’re engineering the future. So you can push its limits.

The Role:

Join a team of application engineers who enjoy performance characterization, tuning and optimization of software applications for server platforms. You’ll work on industry-leading server platforms from leading OEMs for on-prem deployments and leading cloud platforms. You’ll work on top-tier benchmarks (for example: SPEC, STAC and TPC) as well as with the open-source communities and leading ISVs on optimizing complex, distributed software applications across multiple industry verticals (for example, among others: databases, telecom, big-data, analytics, financial services, media, entertainment).

The Person:

Are you passionate about extracting maximum performance for workloads by tuning configurations and optimizing code? Are you bothered by wasted system resources (compute, memory, IO)? Do you want to set and publish world records for benchmarks? Do you enjoy using your strong communication skills to write technical documents for others to use? Then, you’ll fit right in!

Key Responsibilities:

– Set up an application or benchmark on one or more server systems
– Collect and analyze data; characterize application’s runtime to identify performance hotspots
– Develop mitigation strategies to overcome those hotspots
– Work with ISVs or open-source maintainers to release these changes
– Publish methodologies used and results obtained via tuning guides, white-papers, and technical presentations at conferences

Preferred Experience:

– Knowledge of performance analysis tools for Linux/Windows/virtualized environments
– Working experience with perf and other collection and analysis tools
– Familiarity with distributed frameworks such as Apache Hadoop or Spark
– Knowledge of standards and specifications for one or more industry verticals

Academic Credentials:

– 4-year engineering degree (CS/EE) preferred
