Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Plan, direct, or coordinate activities or research and development in the engineering field.
•Provide New Product Opportunity management: manage and drive schedules, report updates to ARs, create and maintain status updates to sales and factory management use experience and creativity to guide solutions to technical challenges.
•Support of Sales goals to exceed Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and procurement meetings: collect insight on customer product and market applications, use knowledge of customer need and Amkor capabilities to seek additional opportunities and report opportunities for Request for Quotation (RFQ) to sales team to drive selection of Amkor loading and revenue.
•Align Amkor materials and package development roadmaps with customer’s next generation products: report to Business Unit and R&D on customer plans and competitive offerings, persuade customer engineers to adopt Amkor standard materials encourage Amkor teams to develop technologies needed by customer.
•Enable faster and more responsive communication between customer and Amkor’s factory engineering staff: work with Korea-based factories and US-based customers to achieve fastest possible response times.
•Provide High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) support: Utilize engineering experience, practices and tools to drive and manage preparation and execution of Process Change Notice (PCN), 8D follow-up, continuous improvement activities.
•Support of Quarterly Technical Reviews, customer visits to Amkor factories for audit of process, development of technology, and inspection of support facilities (lab, test, material handling, etc).
•Provide Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) support: provide material declarations, certification status, drive spec review and adoption or exceptions, communicate customer quality initiatives to factory for implementation; review and confirm process spec documentation to ensure alignment between factory practice and customer expectation.
•Resolve technical issues in the areas of packaging, processing, materials: possess and develop deep understanding of the many interactions of process, material and package construction to improve quality, yield, reliability, while reducing waste, rejects and field returns.
•Create and deliver assembly technology presentations: use detailed understanding of factory process, material, and ideas to convey convincing solution proposals to customers at all levels of technical staff. Drive understanding and selection of Amkor solutions to customer problem statements.
•Travel: Approximately 1-2 times a year to Tempe headquarters and 6-8 times a year to Asian factories to support customer demands.
