Position Summary:

Amkor Technology is currently looking for a Director of Test Equipment Asset Management for the Global Test Services organization in our Tempe, AZ Office. This position will own the factory allocation and optimization of automated test equipment, testers, handlers, probers and other capital equipment for the global test services organization as well as drive supplier relationships for the purchase or lease of new capital equipment. Qualified candidates will have a background in business planning and an engineering degree. Candidates should have demonstrated success in factory planning, capital utilization improvement, and change management as well as an aptitude for working well with people in a diverse international organization that includes factories, managers and executives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This individual will own the acquisition and optimization of new and existing capital equipment in the test factories. Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing an intimate knowledge of test equipment types, locations and capabilities.
  • Driving equipment supply and demand and test capital equipment asset management.
  • Individual will develop and manage long term and short-term capacity management with factories and corporate IE teams as well as identifying tools not usable in the future and dispositioning these tools in the open market.
  • Individual will work with sales, customers, business units and factories to understand equipment configuration requirements and models required by market segments.
  • Supporting worldwide development of new test capital equipment with the suppliers and drive implementation of new technical capabilities into the factories.
  • Analyze existing processes and develop ways to reduce variability and increase capacity, reduce cycle time and drive factory and test platform utilization improvements.
  • Lead cost reduction efforts by working with factories to identify areas for operational improvement and driving their implementation.
  • Identifying and executing innovative solutions to reduce test capital expenses.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience in the semiconductor industry with experience in product engineering, technical support and manufacturing.
  • Experience in industrial engineering or planning is a plus.
  • Individual needs to be self-driven with a demonstrated ability to work independently with general high-level direction.
  • Multi-national company experience, and demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles in a highly diverse, multi-language organization.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to deliver material to varying audiences including customers and suppliers at varying levels of technical and executive management.
  • Previous experience in the Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) environment preferred.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results and team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence, demonstrate strategic thinking and leadership.
  • Ability to understand and streamline technical and business processes.
  • Basic Knowledge of Design of Experiments, Statistics and Semiconductor Test Process Flows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience of semiconductor test equipment configurations and application; this applies to all test equipment such as electrical testers, package handlers, wafer probers and burn in ovens.
  • Hands on experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) is a plus.
    Understanding of ATE equipment models including testers, handlers, probers and end of line equipment and typical process flows by end market/application.
