A Senior Engineer, IC Package Design is a senior level technical resource that is capable of designing multiple complex laminate packages to meet various customers’ requirements. This position requires little or no supervision and provides technical support and training to intermediate through entry level designers. The Sr. Engineer position uses advanced experience to solve difficult design problems and customer issues while integrating advanced project management skills. A Sr. Engineer assists in improving and advancing design technology, leads the team to continuous improvement, and helps drive a commitment to teamwork.

  • Utilize advanced skills and experience to solve a diverse scope of design problems and customer issues
  • Seek out opportunities to improve and advance design technology
  • Exercise responsibility when making design center related decisions using sophisticated analytical techniques
  • Responsible for creating and sustaining effective, productive, quality partnerships between the design team and internal/external customers
  • Responsible for establishing a commitment to team work and customers
  • Interact with Amkor Product Group & Sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met; interface with internal and external customers as required
  • Documentation and record keeping
  • Lead by example while coaching and mentoring others
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Sr. Engineer position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant semiconductor packaging experience
  • Experience using Cadence APD, Cadence SiP and/or Mentor XPedition (XPD) package design tools is required
  • Excellent communication and project management skills are required
  • Self-motivated and team oriented with the ability to meet aggressive schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Must be very detail oriented, organized and able to work well in a team environment
  • Signal Integrity / Power Integrity (SI/PI) experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of GD&T practices is helpful
