Optical surface modeling is traditionally performed using measured or analytical BSDFs (Bidirectional Scattering Distribution Functions) to model rough surfaces in Monte-Carlo ray tracing, one approach is to model the surfaces with a statistical distribution of microfacets. Fully integrated in the Modeling & Simulation team, you will be in charge of developing a microfaceted BSDF model of the recent literature based on a normal distribution. The performances (fidelity, efficiency, limits) of this algorithm will be evaluated within our Monte-Carlo optical simulation solver Speos. The code will be written in C++.
