Responsibilities

Serve as the lead electrical engineer and guide and lead less experienced electrical design engineers throughout product design cycle
Understand and drive system, subsystem and interface requirements
Perform feasibility studies and proof of concepts Translate product level requirements into circuit board designs
Conduct analysis, such as circuit, timing, thermal/cooling, AC/DC power design, electrical loads and FPGA modeling, conceptual and detailed design using design tools (i.e. OrCAD, PSpice, Xilinx/Altera FPGA /EPLD development systems, etc…)
Provide detailed drawings, design review presentations, procurement of prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and handoff to manufacturing
Development, test and integration of complex electrical components and subsystems (including PCBs, cables, system interconnect)
Create and provide BOMs to purchasing
Lead the subsystem integration process collaborating with the Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Optical Engineering teams
Interact with manufacturing and service teams to support product transition into manufacturing
Work closely with suppliers to ensure all design requirements are specified and achieved
Address and resolve product issues through the product lifecycle phases
Write technical documentation that meets the defined quality standards for manufacturing and service as required
