KLA advanced computing Labs’ (ACL) mission in India is to deliver advanced parallel computing research and software architectures for AI + HPC + Cloud solutions to accelerate the performance of KLA’s products. ACL explores high-risk approaches, pioneering technologies, and novel methods to accelerate KLA’s algorithms and contribute to KLA’s HPC technology roadmap. Located out of the IIT Madras Research Park in Chennai, India, we engage leading thinkers in academia, industry and KLA’s business units to create innovative parallel computing methods to enable KLA’s business growth.

As Senior AI HPC Engineer at ACL, you will be focused on achieving ACL’s mission of delivering advanced parallel computing research by

Building theoretical models that break down KLA’s image processing algorithms, that leverage AI, in computing terms such as bandwidth, computational FLOPS, etc.
Bridging the gap between the theoretical peak performance achievable on current and next-gen hardware such as GPUs and AI accelerators by enhancing the algorithm. This will require deep-dives and explorations into new processor and accelerator architectures.
Guiding a team of engineers to port and optimize the algorithm on current and next-gen CPUs, GPUs, and AI accelerators by leveraging constructs in high-performance modern programming languages such as C++-14/C++-17, and low-level programming models such as SIMD extensions (SSE/AVX), CUDA, OpenVINO, etc. This will require working with both existing and yet-to-be-released hardware, and software modules with device and software vendors requiring close interactions with them.
Identifying the path for achieving price-optimized-performance in next-generation devices that implement revolutionary new solutions to accelerate AI algorithms for training and inference.
