Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA’s Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.

The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Responsibilities

The main job responsibilities would include:

Responsible for the development, test and integration of complex FPGA code for high-performance inspection systems with minimal supervision
Responsible for documenting requirements; proposing conceptual and detailed FPGA design architecture; FPGA design implementation
Actively participate in the subsystem integration process collaborating with EE, ME, OE, SW and System teams
Write technical documentation that meets the defined quality standards for manufacturing, service as required

These tasks will require working with other engineering groups such as ME, OE, SW, systems and manufacturing engineers to ensure flawless integration and test at the subsystem and system level.

Qualifications

The candidate needs to have a strong knowledge of:

FPGA development and related high speed digital circuitry design and functions
Timing analysis and constraints at the PCB/FPGA interface
Firmware architecture, develpoment planning, documentation and communication experience and skill
Solid knowledge of electrical engineering principles, analog and digital mixed signal electronics design both at the theoretical and implementation level
Proficient with Xilinx FPGA firmware design using Verilog/VHDL, FPGA simulation and implementation
Familiar with design tools such as Xilinx Vivado/ISE, Python, MatLab, OrCAD.
Firmware integration, debug, and system test experience with complex high speed PCB assemblies
Familiar with EE lab test equipemnt

The candidate must be motivated, self-driven, detail oriented, independent and to possess excellent oral and written communication skills to successfully collaborate with our accomplished engineering team.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) with at least 3 years of experience

OR

Master’s Level Degree with at least 6 years of experience.

OR

Bachelor’s Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience.
