Seeking an experienced, highly-motivated, inventive, disciplined, and hands-on engineering professional to lead the engineering team for a new product line at Lam.   The successful candidate will own the resource allocation, guidance, and mentoring for an engineering group with responsibilities spanning electrical, mechanical, controls, materials, and other engineering disciplines.


Technical ownership of semiconductor equipment systems, subsystems, modules, and parts including theory of operations, specifications, technical analysis, simulations, design, documentation, test, compliance, manufacturability, cost, and reliability
Management of objectives and meeting urgent deadlines for hardware projects including timelines and cost/resource estimates
Expertise in general mechanical engineering theory including heat transfer, mechanical modeling, and fluid dynamics in vacuum and ambient
Vacuum system design practice including seal design and materials compatibility
Materials expertise in metals, ceramics, and plastics in challenging thermal, corrosive, and contamination-sensitive environments
Understanding of wafer-level defects – causes and mitigations
General safety and ergonomic design practices including semiconductor industry standards (SEMI S2 and S8).
Ability to generate FMEA and PFMEA analyses with mitigations
Exceptional system-level and component-level troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication skills including the ability to create effective presentations for design reviews, program reviews, and executive reviews
A collaborative spirit that thrives in a dynamic and heavily-matrixed environment including stakeholders from process engineering, productivity, pilot/manufacturing, supply chain, field engineers, customers, and suppliers.
Development of an engineering organization to meet the current needs of our products as well as future requirements.
