Position: Technology Journalist for Semiconductor Engineering

Publication: Semiconductor Engineering is a fast-growing online publication with a worldwide engineering/scientific audience. We provide deep insights into the increasingly complex task of designing, testing, verifying, integrating and manufacturing semiconductors, as well as insights into the market dynamics that make it all possible

 

Education Requirements: B.A. or Masters in Journalism

 

Experience: Ideal candidate has 5 years of reporting experience, preferably in the technology industry. Strong reporting, writing, and interviewing/networking skills are a must. Candidate must be willing to learn the semiconductor industry and the underlying technology. Understanding of journalism sourcing standards, copyright laws, and best-practices in developing and handling relationships is a must.

 

Job Description: This is an extremely challenging but highly rewarding job for the someone who wants to continually learn and grow. It involves interacting with highly educated, insightful people who develop technology for everything from AI chips to materials that speed up the functioning of cell phones. Our audience is comprised primarily engineers and scientists (distinguished scientists, inventors, technology fellows, researchers, many with patents and advanced degrees). The articles we generate are in-depth (~2000+ words), and multi-sourced (with quotes). This is definitely not a blogger role. Ability to meet deadlines is critical. Some travel is required for candidates located outside of Silicon Valley, and occasionally for those in the Valley.
