System Design Engineer / Architect You will be part of an R&D team developing high speed serial-link transceivers. We are looking for an engineer with theoretical knowledge and practical experience to contribute to the team. You will work with a cross functional design team of analog and digital designers from a wide variety of backgrounds. You will be involved in all stages of development including: architecture/specs for the transmitter and receiver system level simulation of the design performance across multiple protocols and channels qualification and correlation of performance and algorithms in silicon Working from SerDes standards you create link budgets and write block-level specifications and work closely with the analog design team to ensure the specifications are realized. You create behavioral models of analog circuits and system models to study impact of various TX/RX non-idealities on overall link performance, channel loss and bit error rate. You develop calibration and adaptation algorithms and translate them into the firmware necessary to control the system. You write system level documentation and work with the digital team to verify the implemented RTL. When chips come back you work with the lab team to ensure smooth bring-up and to quickly debug any issues that arise.
