Synopsys Coverity is the market-leading static analysis tool.  It scans source code and identifies critical software quality defects and security vulnerabilities in code as it’s written, early in the development process, when it’s least costly and easiest for developers fix.  The tool can be integrated into a command line workflow, a CI/CD pipeline, or several IDEs.  Coverity applies state-of-the-art algorithms to detect and report several hundred different classes of issues, including memory-management problems, concurrency deadlocks, logic errors, sensitive data leaks, and injection vulnerabilities.

You will be working with the Coverity static analysis team to create and improve infrastructure for how we build and test our product.  You will work closely with a software engineer, learn the development tools and workflow, and participate in stand-ups and team meetings.  Depending on interests and time, there will be opportunities to tune and enhance Coverity to find and report additional defects and security vulnerabilities.This internship is beginning in May or June 2020 for 3 months.
