Job Description
Cree is looking to add an Electronic Packaging Engineer to our Wolfspeed division in Durham, NC. This job opportunity is for an experienced engineer with a thorough and detailed understanding of, and experience with a wide range of electronic packaging processes in a manufacturing environment.

The candidate should have a strong understanding mechanical behavior of polymeric materials, characterization methods and experienced in Finite Element Modeling (FEM) thermo-mechanical stress modeling.

What can you do for our Cree| Wolfspeed?


Develop FEM models for various power discrete packages to estimate die and package stresses
Work closely with subcontractors and materials vendors and internal teams to characterize package materials and use modeling to help down-select materials for packages
Stay abreast on latest packaging materials such as epoxy mold compounds, sintering pastes, solders etc.
Provide technical and engineering support to the manufacturing team
Recommend design modifications to improve the manufacturability and/or reliability of Power packages
Drive DOE’s at Cree and at Contract Manufacturer’s to help with materials selection as well as design improvements
Interact with product design engineers to ensure that processes and designs are compatible and optimized for future products
