Wolfspeed’s Radio Frequency (RF) business is one of the world’s leading suppliers of gallium nitride on silicon carbide (GaN-on-SiC) technology and products. We are hiring a Engineering Technician to join our team responsible for supporting measurement execution, maintenance and development activities in R&D at Morgan Hill, CA.

What you can do for Wolfspeed? The Engineering Technician will be collaborating with engineers and executing independently on supporting measurement needs from the team and technology development related projects.
Job Duties Include:

Operate standard technology characterization/evaluation measurements, including DC, PIV, CV, S-parameter, loadpull, 50ohm bench measurements, and etc.
Perform characterization/measurement on transistor die-level & RF power amplifier circuit level, including DC, Pulsed-IV, Capacitance-Voltage (CV), S-parameter, load pull, 50ohm RF bench measurements, and etc
Perform test bench setup and trouble-shooting. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
Perform bench calibration and routine verification to guarantee data accuracy
Organize, pre-screen and report measurement data under engineer’s guidance
Assist in test and data management automation
Assist in developing and tuning RF power amplifier test fixtures
Maintain and develop calibration and measurement procedure documents based on direct hands-on experience
What you need for success:

2 year technical school degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Technology.
Good basic engineering math skills
Good writing and communication skills
Good understanding of analog semiconductor basics, e.g. IV characteristics, DC/AC analysis
Ability to work from schematics, pictorial presentations, written and verbal instructions to follow standard test procedures.
Experience with operating standard lab test equipment like, vector network analyzer, signal generator / analyzer, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, power-meter, lab power supplies and etc
Experience with SMT soldering of passive and active components.
Detail oriented and ability to work within schedule restraints
This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
Highly preferred skills and certifications:

Good understanding of scattering parameters and analysis
Experience with SOLT and TRL VNA calibrations
Experience with scripting using Matlab, Python, C# or C/C++
