Wolfspeed (Cree’s Power & RF division) is one of the world’s leading suppliers of gallium nitride on silicon carbide (GaN-on-SiC) technology and products for RF communications, radar and electronic warfare. Our business is in need of an Engineering Technician for our Morgan Hill, California location. The primary focus of this role is to set up and operate machines as required by process or procedure.

What you can do for Wolfspeed:

As an Engineering Technician you will work within and engineering environment in the assembly process reporting into the Engineering Services organization.  You will set up and operate Wedge-bonders, Ball-bonders, Epoxy Die attach, Eutectic Die attach.  Perform a wide variety of electrical/mechanical product assembly operations on components, assemblies or sub-assemblies. Kitting of materials and components for prototype / engineering builds.

 

What you need for success:

High school diploma
2 years’ experience working with assembly equipment specific to bonding and die attach
Good communication skills and ability to work with team members
Basic knowledge of electronics
Knowledge of assembly procedures and specifications.
Ability to work with general instruction on daily activities.
Good dexterity – hand-eye coordination.
Ability to multi-task.
Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
Reads and interprets schematics, parts lists, travelers, work instructions and process procedures to properly assemble many prototype designs.
This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations
Highly preferred skills:

Experience using tweezers and microscopes and small hand tools.
Laser trimming, solder printing, pick/place components, epoxy component attach.
