TeraPlace integrates a global router, static timing analyzer, 2 1/2-based RC extractor, AWE delay calculator, and ECO capability, into a timing-driven placement flow. Its core engine is a CLK CAD’s proprietary TeraSearch algorithm derived from mathematical programming. TeraSearch integrates object functions and constraints seamlessly with a primal-dual searching mechanism. The ultra-fast, built-in global router provides accurate wire length estimation and excellent congestion control. These collective algorithms ensure that TeraPlace not only produces precise timing results at its first run, but also converges rapidly (usually in one rapid iteration) when an ECO is required.
