Founded in June 1981, Zycad was the first company to develop and market simulation acceleration technology. Since then, the company has been developing technologies that address the issues associated with the design verification of complex integrated circuits (ICs), application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and electronic systems. Most recently, the company has expanded operation to develop and manufacturer ProASIC products, a reprogrammable ASIC technology.
Two business units form the basic organizational structure of Zycad Corporation, the Verification Division and the GateField Division. Each has a distinctive market and development focus, however, technology and products are leveraged across both business units.
