In 2013, Alakesh Chetia started as an adviser to the CEO at SunEdison and today is the president for SunEdison Social Innovations. In 2004 Chetia was a VP and GM at Cypress Semiconductor.
In 1996, Chetia founded iMODL, which was acquired by TransEDA in 2002.
Chetias early experience came from Unisys.
Chetia holds a BE, Electrical & Electronics Engineering from National Institute of Technology Karnataka and a MSEE, Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
