Amr Mohsen

Founder of actel and Aptix


Amr Mohsen was convicted by a jury for 17 of 18 counts in connection with perjury, obstruction of justice, and witness tampering. He was sentenced to 17 years on January 5, 2007. His appeal failed in 2009.
He was the founder, Chairman & CEO of Aptix Corporation from 1989 to 2004
He was founder of Actel Corporation and was chairman and CEO from 1985 to 1989.

Dr. Mohsen received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering and applied physics from California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California in 1973 and 1971 respectively. He also received the M.Sc. in solid-state science and material engineering from the American University in Cairo, Egypt in 1971; and the B.Sc. in electrical engineering from Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1968.
