Incubix was founded in 1990 by Bruce Holland to carry out his vision of implementing innovative engineering projects without the limitations of a traditional corporate structure. The first developments from Incubix were in spread spectrum radio technology which led to the formation of a spin off called Spectralink, where he was CEO until their IPO. He then returned his attention to Incubix.
In 1981, Holland was co-founder of Cadnetix Corporation, a creator of computer-aided design (CAD) automation tools for electronic systems.
A year before graduating in 1974 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Holland co-founded NBI, Inc., an early developers of microcomputer word processing systems.
