In 1997, Lyons left Mentor as co-founder, president and CEO of Silicon Forest Research which later became Lighthouse Design automation. This company was acquired by Mentor in 2005.
in 1986 Lyons was a founder of Performance CAD that produced a static timing analyzer for IC design verification, which was acquired by Mentor in 1989
Prior to this Lyons spent several years at Advanced Micro Devices in multiple leadership roles spanning wafer fabrication engineering, operations management, and marketing.
Lyons holds an M.S.E.E. from San Jose State University, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, a J.D. degree from Harvard Law School, and a B.A. in Chemistry from Harvard University.
