David Yao was co-founder and VP or R&D for Plato Design systems in 1999. They were acquired in 2002 by Cadence where he is now VP or R&D.
He was a developer and project lead of place and route products at Mentor Graphics. Before that, he was a developer of core place and route products at Cadence, CLK CAD, and Arcadia Design Systems.
Yao holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from University of California, San Diego.
