Edmund K. Cheng is President and Chief Executive Officer at Gradient Design Automation Inc. since July 2006. Cheng served eight years at Synopsys, as vice president of marketing for the silicon engineering group. He was president and Chief Executive Officer of Anagram.

In 1981, he co-founded Silicon Compilers, where he was vice president of engineering.

He started his career at Intel where he held various design and management positions in the microprocessors group.

He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from California Institute of Technology, and his B.S.E.E. from Ohio University.
