In 1990, Horowitz took a leave of absence from Stanford to found Rambus and served as chief scientist since May 2005. He stepped down in 2011
Horowitz has taught at Stanford University since 1984 and is currently a professor and chair of the Electrical Engineering Department.
Horowitz received his BS and MS in electrical engineering from MIT and a Ph.D in electrical engineering in Stanford University.
