Description

Prabhu Goel holds Masters of Science and Doctorate degrees in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1974. He graduated from IIT Kanpur with as the President’s Gold Medalist in electrical engineering 1970.
His career started at IBM where he developed the Path-Oriented Decision Making (PODEM) automatic test pattern generation (ATPG) algorithm.

In 1981 he joined Wang Labs.

He founded Automated Integrated Design Systems in 1982, later known as Gateway Design Automation, that developed the Verilog Hardware Description Language (HDL). This was sold to Cadence in 1989

Dr. Goel founded Duet Corporation, which merged with Tunnelnet to form iPolicy Networks, Inc.

Dr. Goel is a Founder of Foundation for Excellence Charity and Founding Charter Member of TIE.

He founded Signet Solar, Inc. in 2006.

Dr. Goel was Founder of Frontline Design Automation which merged with Avant! Corporation in 1996.

He has invested in over 34 private companies and served on many of their Boards.

He serves as a Member of Governing Board of Indian School of Business.

At IBM, he received several Invention Achievements Awards and the IBM Corporate Award for Outstanding Innovation.

Dr. Goel won the 2003 IEEE Industrial Pioneer Award for his work on design modeling and design verification through Verilog and Verilog-based design.
