Richard Foss and Robert Harland founded MOSAID in 1975 and served as President and Chief Executive Officer. He served as a Director since 1975 and was Chairman of the Board from 1984 until his retirement at the end of 2001.
In 1970, Foss joined Microsystems International (MIL), as head of design, MOS engineering manager and new products manager.
His early work experience came from the EMI group and Plessey Company.
Foss has a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Electronics (awarded in 1964 after the work was used in missile telemetry systems by EMI) from University of Durham .
