In 2005, Vinod Agarwal attempted to set up india’s first semiconductor chip-making unit – SemIndia
in 1992 Agarwal had founded LogicVision (previously called LV software) and was its president and CEO until 2003
Agarwal was a professor at McGill University in Canada, where he was appointed to the endowed Nortel/NSERC Industrial Research Chair Professorship.
He holds a BE in Electronics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Pittsburgh and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
