Vinod Kathail was a founder of Synfora and served as CTO and VP of engineering. Synfora assets were acquired by Synopsys in 2010
Kathail had been the R&D program manager and a principal scientist in the Compiler and Architecture Research (CAR) Program at H-P Labs, and had overall responsibility for the PICO project. Kathail joined H-P Labs in 1990 and worked on a number of projects before becoming chief architect, and then manager, of the PICO system.
