Description

Youn-Long Steve Lin is a Professor of Computer Science at the National Tsing Hua University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Peking University, Beijing, China.
Professor Lin’s primary research interest is in computer-aided design (CAD) of very large-scale integrated circuits (VLSI) with emphasis on physical design automation and high-level synthesis.

Lin was a founder of Golobal Unichip and served as their chief technical adviser and then later as CTO and executive vice president.

Lin received his B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan in 1982, and Ph.D degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, IL., in 1987. Upon his graduation, he joined National Tsing Hua University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, where he established the THEDA Group (Tsing Hua EDA).
