VaST Systems Technology Corporation provided tools and models for embedded systems design. It developed CoMET, a system engineering tool that enabled the creation of a software simulation-based virtual system prototype of a system-on-a-chip (SOC); and METeor, a software development environment for embedded systems and SoC. The company also provided Metrix, which provided behavior and performance of hardware and software components of virtual system prototypes to system architects, hardware designers, and software developers; and peripheral device builder, which enables the creation of models of peripheral devices.
VaST had received over $24M in funding.
VaST was acquired by Synopsys in 2010. (Synopsys spent $37.4M on the purchase of CoWare, VaST, and Gemini together.)
