Description

In 1987, Morris Chang founded TSMC and took it from startup to the largest silicon foundry in the world.
In 1985, Chang became Chairman and President of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) in Taiwan.

In 1984, Chang became president and COO of General Instrument Corporation.

Chang’s early career was spend at Sylvania Semiconductor and Texas Instruments where he worked for 25 years. TI gave him the opportunity to work on his PhD.

Chang received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
