In 1991 Viewlogic went public on NASDAQ, offering 3,500,000 shares at $13 a share. After being acquired by Synopsys in 1997, Viewlogic management in 1998 bought out the PCB/Systems unit, reestablishing Viewlogic as a private company. IC design software remained with Synopsys. Synopsys retained a minority 14.9% stake. In 2000 Viewlogic and Summit Design merged to form Innoveda.
- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. acquired Sunrise Test Systems, Inc. in 1994. Viewlogic acquired Sunrise for $18 million in cash and stock options (Viewlogic already owned 10% of Sunrise).
- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. acquired Viewlogic PCB/Systems Unit in 1998. A management-led buyout worth $58.75 million of the PCB/Systems unit that Synopsys acquired in the merger with Viewlogic. Viewlogic was reestablished as a private company. Synopsys retained a minority 14.9% stake.

- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. acquired Chronologic Simulation in 1994. $26.5 million in stock.
- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. acquired Quad Design Technology, Inc. in 1993 for 872,700 Viewlogic shares, deal valued at about $14.6 million.
- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. acquired Racal Redac SilcSyn in 1993.
- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. acquired Vantage Analysis Systems, Inc. in 1992 for 1.8 million shares of Viewlogic stock valued at more than $30 million.
- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. acquired Silerity Inc in 1995, for $5.6M.
- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. acquired Benelux B.V in 1996 for $900,000 cash.
- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. acquired Eagle Design Automation in 1997 for approximately $6.1 million in cash (Viewlogic already owned 20% of Eagle).
- Viewlogic Systems, Inc. acquired Transcendent Design Technology, Inc. in 1999.
- Synopsys acquired Viewlogic Systems, Inc. in 1997. Viewlogic merged with Synopsys in a stock trade valued at $497 million.
