Aart de Geus is Chairman and co-CEO at Synopsys. In 1986 de Geus was a founder of Optimal Solutions, which a year later was renamed Synopsys. He has held a variety of positions within the company and has served as CEO since 1994.
Prior to founding Synopsys, de Geus was manager of the Advanced Computer-Aided Engineering Group at General Electric.
He serves on the boards of Applied Materials, EDAC, Global Semiconductor Alliance, and the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
De Geus holds an MS in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University.
