Robert Noyce died June 3rd 1990
In 1968, Noyce co-founded Intel where he oversaw the creation of their first microprocessor. He became the chairman of the board in 1975.

Prior to Intel, Noyce was a co-founder of Fairchild Semiconductor where he was the co-inventor of the integrated circuit in 1959

Noyce received a BA in physics from Grinnell College, Iowa and a PhD in physics from MIT
