Description

FormFactor provides analytical probe stations for on-wafer probing and board test. It also offers individual analytical probes for characterization, modeling, reliability, design de-bug, qualification and production test. Additionally, the company makes probe cards for memory, RF, foundry and logic devices.

FRT, a subsidiary, provides 3D surface metrology tools.

In June 2003, FormFactor debuted on NASDAQ (FORM) with an IPO of 6 million shares priced at $14.00 per share.

Acquisitions

October 2019: FRT, a metrology company, for €19.7 million (~$21.4M) with up to an additional €10.3 million (~$11.2M) of additional cash consideration subject to performance. [Press Release]

October 2012: MicroProbe (Astria Semiconductor Holdings), a provider of advanced wafer test solutions to non-memory semiconductor manufacturers, for $100 million in cash and $16.8 million in stock. [Press Release]

October 2009: Certain assets of Electroglas, Inc. related to precision motion control automation. The assets were acquired as part of Electroglas’ bankruptcy proceedings. [Press Release] In 2015, MarTek acquired all of the Electroglas Wafer Prober IP along with all existing third-party license agreements in a legal settlement.
