High-end video SoCs need emulation.
New markets for multimedia and high-definition video chips are quickly becoming the next wave fueling the electronics industry. One market that demonstrates a mega-appetite for electronics is the drone market. The main IC components in drones that require exhaustive verification are the video capture circuitry and data collection components that either store data in-system or upload that data to a larger storage infrastructure.
All of this data makes verification times too long for simulation. Fortunately, emulators deliver an acceleration of hundreds or thousands of times the performance of simulators. Emulation has the speed, capacity and performance to churn through massive amounts of data and long sequences very quickly.
To take a closer look at the challenges of the multimedia market, and how an emulation-based verification methodology offers design teams a significant advantage. To read more, click here.
