DVCon Europe is on the horizon, and this year’s program should prove to be very timely. Chips and systems are getting more complex, verification is becoming more difficult, and formal has emerged as a critical piece of the verification suite

The lineup this year tackles some key issues facing a changing semiconductor landscape. During a Monday tutorial, “Next Generation ISO 26262-based Design Reliability Flows,” Jörg Grosse, product manager functional safety, and Sanjay Pillay, Austemper Design Systems’ CEO, will demonstrate a complete safety development process.

On Tuesday, there are a number of discussions of note that will involve formal from different perspectives:

  • 9-10 a.m.: “The Best Tools for Driving Safety and Security in Automotive Applications.”
  • 1-2:30 p.m.: “Firmware Verification, Software Design Techniques in Verification, High Level Synthesis,” chaired by OneSpin CEO Raik Brinkmann chairs a session,
  • 3:15-4:45 p.m.: “Formal Fault Propagation Analysis that Scales to Modern Automotive SoCs,” a functional safety session with Sergio Marchese, OneSpin’s technical marketing manager.
  • 4:30-5:30 p.m.: “Intelligent Automation: How to Decide What to and What not to Automate?”, moderated by Krishnapriya Chakiat Ramamoorthy of Infineon. Ashish Darbari, OneSpin’s director of product management, is one of two panelists.

Exhibits are open Monday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. OneSpin will be in booth #402, providing attendees an opportunity to see demonstrations of formal verification tools and learn firsthand what the presenters having been talking about. There will be a number of formal experts available to answer questions.

OneSpin is an avid supporter of Accellera’s DVCon events, now offered across the globe. There’s a synergy between DVCon and our formal verification tool suite; DVCon attendees use our formal verification solutions for sophisticated chip designs in a wide range of market segments. We’re involved behind the scenes of the conference as well: Dave Kelf, OneSpin’s vice president of marketing, serves as the steering committee’s promotions chair.

If DVCon Europe isn’t in your October travel itinerary, watch the OneSpin website, where we will post the presentations from the conference. You also can follow us on Twitter (@OneSpinSolution) for real-time updates, photos, and video from the exhibit floor and sessions.
