We are at the dawn of the next technological revolution. A revolution driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and accelerating at an unprecedented speed. At the end of 2022, with the launch of ChatGPT, our world changed significantly; within two months, it gained 100 million active users. AI not only has the potential to transform every area of life, be it financial services, digital assistants, climate research and many more, but it also transforms and reshapes every part of the computing market. However, at the heart of this transformation lies a growing challenge: the enormous and ever-increasing power requirements of AI technologies. This exponential power demand drives a need for innovation and development of advanced semiconductor solutions that handle complex power conversion processes. Moreover, as data centers transition from supporting traditional computational tasks to powering AI workloads, their energy requirements are scaling rapidly. To answer this growing demand, the data centers of the future will face significant architectural changes and higher requirements in terms of quality, efficiency, and thermals. Both need to be supported by innovative power management solutions.

This paper includes insights on some likely scenarios in the future of AI power management, and examines how changes in architecture, quality, efficiency, thermal requirements, and energy availability will shape the landscape.
