Introducing The Simulation World Virtual Conference For Multiphysics Verification

The virtual event will feature keynote presentations and a dedicated semiconductor track with technical sessions.

The elimination of all live seminars and conferences has been felt particularly acutely by Ansys. The company’s extraordinary breadth of simulation products across many different physics – including fluidics, mechanical, optical, electrical, materials, and semiconductors – means that dozens of events for many different industrial sectors have been cancelled or postponed this year.

In response, Ansys has sponsored the creation of Simulation World, the world’s largest virtual event for researchers and engineering leaders in the area of simulation and verification technology across all different physical disciplines. Simulation World is organized much like the live events it replaces with a series of informative keynote presentations and industry tracks with technical sessions.

You will be able to attend over two-dozen keynote sessions including market perspectives from leading electronics and semiconductor companies such as Ericsson, HP Enterprise, Honeywell, Intel, Microsoft, Rockwell, and Seagate Technologies.

Of special interest to this audience are a dedicated Semiconductor Track and several industry tracks devoted to 5G, Industrial IoT, Electrification, and Autonomous.  The Semiconductor Track itself will run both days and feature users with real-world case studies and some Ansys product update sessions. A preliminary agenda for the Semiconductor Track includes the following guest speakers:

Wednesday, June 10th

  • Nitin Navale – CAD Manager, Xilinx
“Elastic Compute Scalable Design Methodologies for Next-Generation FPGAs”
  • Dai Dai – Mixed Signal Design Manager, NVIDIA
“Optimizing Electromagnetic Crosstalk and Power Distribution for High-Speed Serial Links on Silicon”
  • Jiaze Li – Senior Engineer, Qualcomm
“Novel RTL Power Regression and Minimization Workflow for Mobile GPU Cores”

Thursday, June 11th

  • Erman Timurdogan – Director, Analog Photonics
“Designing Large-Scale Silicon Photonics Integrated Circuits through PDK Component Library”
  • Sung-Kyu Lim – Professor, Georgia Tech
“Thermal Issues and Solutions for 3D ICs: Latest Updates and Future Prospect”
  • Makoto Nagata – Professor, Kobe University
“A C-P-S Simulation Technique of Power-Noise Side Channel Leakage in Cryptographic Integrated Circuits”

From the Ansys side there will be updates for all the major technology areas including RedHawk-SC, Totem, PowerArtist, Chip Packaging System, and RaptorH.

The major new announcements at Simulation World in the Semiconductor Track center round a new product introduction and a major acquisition.

RaptorH is a new product announcement that expands the portfolio of electromagnetic (EM) simulation and extraction technology. RaptorH marries Ansys’ golden standard HFSS EM field simulation technology together with the RaptorX EM simulation product that is optimized for chip design and 3DIC packaging verification. With the new RaptorH, semiconductor system designers no longer need to choose to get the best of both worlds. You can read more in the recent press release with Samsung Foundry certifying RaptorH for the design and verification of their 2.5D/3D packaging technology.

The other major announcement is the acquisition of Lumerical – a leader in silicon photonics. In fact, the guest speaker from Analog Photonics is a Lumerical user and will discuss photonic PDKs for advanced photo-electronic design capabilities supported by silicon foundries.

Simulation World will be held online on June 10 & 11 with free registration now open at www.simulation-world.com.  This may well be one the easiest and best ways to break out of our weeks of pandemic isolation and interact with our industry peers, catch up with the latest technology trends, and learn something new.
