Magnetoresistive RAM (MRAM)

Uses magnetic properties to store data
popularity

Description

MRAM – (magnetoresistive random access memory) uses magnetic properties to store data. This technology is already in use for small quantities but is very expensive.

Micron has demonstrated PCM (phase-change memory).

Samsung is working on STT-RAM (spin transfer torque RAM).

Unity Semiconductor developed CMOx (complementary metal oxide) and has been purchased by Rambus (2012).

Adesto says it is close to bringing CBRAM (conductive bridging RAM) to market.

Intel has dubbed its magnetic memory solution “Racetrack.”
