Data processing

Data processing is when raw data has operands applied to it via a computer or server to process data into another useable form. This definition category includes how and where the data is processed.

Data processing is how and where digital data is processed after it has been produced. For instance, does the data go to a data center directly from the device or is it being processed on an edge device? Is the data processed in the cloud or a hybrid cloud?

Data processing is when operations are performed on data to gain some understanding from the raw data, to classify the data or to select an action and have the action triggered by the processed data. Automation requires data processing be done on a local, edge, cloud/data center level.
